The Canadian Rockies
After settling into our Vrbo in Canmore, we began exploring the downtown area. One of the first finds was the Big Head Sculpture. We also looked eagerly for the Three Sisters Mountains, which in every travel book indicated they could be easily seen from Canmore. However, the smoke from wildfires limited visibility during the first couple of days in Canmore. As the days progressed, we got some good views of the Three Sisters!
Our first full day of adventure began at Johnston Canyon in beautiful Banff National Park. In total, we visited four National Parks, several beautiful lakes, and many other interesting sites. We traveled on the Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park and stopped several times along the way.
In Yoho National Park we visited Emerald Lake. In Kootenay National Park we enjoyed the Marble Canyon, Numa Falls, and the Continental Divide.
During this two-week adventure, God’s masterpieces were all around us. To our surprise and excitement, we also got to see several bears eating berries on the side of the road.
We ended our adventure with a fun Covered Wagon Ride and Cook Out beginning at the Banff Riding Stables.
The best way to share all that we experienced is to show you in the video below. This video includes one of the bear sightings. Enjoy the adventure and stay tuned for more.
I will be exploring several Catholic sites and missions in New Mexico in October and will blog and share a video when I return.
Let me know in the comments below if you’ve ever been to this part of Canada and if so, what you liked best. Let me know also if this blog and video inspires you to plan a trip to Canada.
God bless and stay tuned for more updates!
