When you plan on spending the entire day exploring new places, it is always important to have on hand a portable charger battery pack for your phone. This came in handy on every trip I’ve taken so far and fits nicely in my crossbody purse.

My son introduced me to the Sapphire 2 - Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot shortly before I embarked on my trip to Italy. With this device, I can purchase phone plans within the country I am visiting (or global plans if I plan on visiting more than one country at a time.)

People told me that getting lost was the best way to explore Italy. This device calmed my fears about getting lost permanently. Because of this device, I was able to explore and then use my phone GPS to get me back to the hotel. This would also come in handy to text or call those you are traveling with. I got the Sapphire 2 at the military PX, however, Amazon has comparable devices.

Enjoy Exploring!

My oldest granddaughter introduced me to the FitBit. One day, she announced boldly that we had walked over 16,000 steps. I couldn’t figure out how she knew that, and then she told me about her new fangled watch. Never too old to learn!

I love my FitBit and take it with me everywhere. In Italy, it helped me justify one more beautiful Italian pastry - after all, I walked over 5 miles each day!

My husband had much longer arms than I do. Our selfie pictures always looked great. Now that I am on my own, I am learning to use a selfie stick!

I used this gem for the first time in Alaska!
